Abstract

To achieve a successful learning process, of course there are several components that need to be considered, one of which is motivation. Motivation is one of the components needed to achieve what you want. It's the same as memorizing the Koran. Many theories from several experts have put forward about motivation. Like Abraham Maslow's famous Hierarchy of Needs, this theory is more inclined to the content and process of learning, but basically this theory is more inclined to education and the learning process in its most ideal form. Based on the background above, the researcher formulated the problem, namely: (1) What is the analysis of the hierarchy of motivational needs of students based on Abraham Maslow's theory in memorizing the Qur'an at the Nurul Furqon 3 Islamic Boarding School in Malang? (2) What are the implications of students' motivation in memorizing the Al-Qur'an? -Qur'an at Nurul Furqon Islamic Boarding School 3 Malang? This research uses a descriptive qualitative research approach with the research location at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Furqon 3 Malang. The research instrument is the researcher himself with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed using data condensation techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data checking process using data source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of this research show that students at the Nurul Furqon 3 Islamic Boarding School have various motivations. Some come from intrinsic factors due to their own will or from extrinsic factors, namely factors from outside. However, in applying it based on Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs, it does not necessarily have to fulfill all the levels mentioned by Maslow, although in the end it will fulfill the peak, namely the need for self-actualization.
