Abstract

Zulfan, Alief Muhammad. 2023. Instilling Student Character Education through the Habit of Congregational Prayer at MI Al-Qur'an Singosari Malang. Thesis, Islamic Religious Education Study Program, Ma'had Aly Al-Hikam Islamic College, Malang. Supervisor: Moh. Nadhif M.Pd. I Keywords: Character Education, Congregational Prayer Education that develops character values in students so that they have values and character as their own character. Applying these values in one's life, as a religious, nationalist, productive and creative member of society and citizen is interpreted as character education. Character education has a higher meaning than moral education, because character education is not only related to issues of right and wrong, but how to instill habits about good things in the lives of students who have high awareness, understanding, and in everyday life. can be applied care and commitment to apply virtue. The purpose of this research is to find out: (1) To find out the character values that are built through the practice of congregational prayers at MI Al-Qur'an Singosari Malang. (2) to determine efforts to build student character through the habit of congregational prayers at MI Al-Qur'an Singosari Malang. (3) to determine the inhibiting factors in building student character through the habit of congregational prayer at MI Al-Qur'an Singosari Malang. Researchers used a qualitative research approach with descriptive methods. In collecting research data, researchers used observation, interviews, documentation techniques. The analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research are: (1) Students' character values are built through the habit of praying in congregation at MI Al-Qur'an Singosari Malang, including: Religiousness, Discipline, Responsibility. (2) Efforts to build student character through the habit of praying together at MI Al-Qur'an Singosari Malang include: showing example, providing direction, providing motivation, instilling sincerity, and getting used to good things. (3) inhibiting factors in efforts to build student character through the habit of congregational prayers at MI Al-Qur'an Singosari Malang include: internal factors, these factors come from the students themselves, there are still many students who wander off when congregational prayers are to be held. Second, external factors, these factors come from outside the student, namely from a lack of attention from parents and a lack of motivation in children.
