Abstract
This study explores the role of Salaf Islamic boarding schools in improving student achievement in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Plus Hidayatul Mubtadi’in, Singosari. The Salaf pesantren, known for their emphasis on classical Islamic texts and character education, were examined for their contribution to students’ academic performance. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that students who also participate in pesantren education demonstrate higher religious understanding and academic performance in PAI, attributed to the pesantren’s holistic, discipline-based learning. The study concludes that intensive religious learning at pesantren significantly supports PAI academic success.
