At-Taubah Islamic Boarding School Development Strategy and Officers' Efforts in Improving the Quality of Islamic Religious Education for Prisoners (Case Study at Class IA Lowokwaru Penitentiary Malang). Thesis, Master of Islamic Education, Postgraduate of the Islamic High School "Ma'had Aly Al-Hikam" Malang. Supervisor: Dr. Zaenu Zuhdi, Lc., M.H.I. Dr. Mufarrihul Hazin, M.Pd. Keywords: Islamic Boarding School Development Strategy, Efforts of Officers, Quality of Islamic Education, Correctional Institutions. Islamic boarding schools that stand in the prison environment are unique compared to Islamic boarding schools in general. The researcher tries to present research on the strategy of developing the At-Taubah Islamic boarding school and the efforts of officers in improving the quality of Islamic religious education for prisoners (a case study at the Class IA Lowokwaru Penitentiary Malang). The problems and objectives of this research can be formulated: (1) Describe the strategy of developing the At-Taubah Islamic boarding school in improving the quality of Islamic religious education; (2) Describe the efforts of officers in the strategy of developing the At-Taubah Islamic boarding school in improving the quality of Islamic religious education; (3) Analyzing what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for the development strategy of the At-Taubah Islamic boarding school in improving the quality of Islamic religious education for prisoners in the Class 1A Lowokwaru Penitentiary, Malang. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study. Data collection with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used descriptive qualitative analysis. The validity of the data is done by triangulation. The results of the study indicate that: (1) At-Taubah Islamic boarding school development strategy includes: a) Development of infrastructure; b) Development of human resources such as central figures, teaching staff, security officers; c) The development of the pesantren curriculum includes the yellow book, the Koran, worship practices and extra curriculum. (2) The efforts of officers in the strategy of developing the At-Taubah Islamic boarding school include: a) Efforts to manage Islamic boarding schools; b) Efforts to equalize Islamic boarding schools; c) Efforts to establish cooperation with parties outside the pesantren. (3) The supporting and inhibiting factors for the development strategy of the At-Taubah Islamic boarding school in improving the quality of Islamic religious education in the Penitentiary Class 1A Lowokwaru Malang, namely: a) Supporting factors include the support of correctional officials, the support of the security forces, the enthusiasm of most students fostered, the age factor of the fostered students; b) Inhibiting factors include the absence of selection, the lack of learning time, the background of the fostered students.
